Intake & Air
Hood clearance and radiator airflow drive intake choices as much as power goals.
Intake Manifold
- Car intakes (LS1/LS6/LS3) are the lowest and fit under the hood most easily.
- Truck intakes are tall, with long runners, and may not clear the Genesis hood. Many builders swap to a car-style or aftermarket manifold.
- FAST 102mm is a common upgrade. Order the right head-port version: the LSXRT is for cathedral-port truck heads (4.8/5.3/6.0) and the LSXR is for rectangle-port heads (LS3/L92/L99).
IAT Sensor Placement
Keep the intake air temp sensor out of hot radiator air. In my car the IAT in the throttle-body coupler read wildly high, so it got moved to the back of the FAST 102, tapped for 3/8" NPT (grind down the tab that's in the way).
Throttle Body & Pedal
Drive-by-wire throttle bodies need a matching pedal and an ECU that supports DBW (Holley Terminator X Max). Cable throttle works with any setup. See Gas Pedal.
